It’s #medalmonday and I’m still thinking about...

It’s #medalmonday and I’m still thinking about Sat’s race.  When I originally signed up for #fontanahalfmarathon during the fall, I said to myself that depending on how well Ive been running I’d like to hit sub 1:40. When I picked up the RNR tour pass and saw it would be sandwiched between San Diego and Seattle, that 1:40 went out the window. I decided to run this race purely by a comfortable effort and it was such a suprise to me when I hit the last .1 miles to see the clock still under 1:40. I had to gun it to hit a huge PR. Weather and gravity was my ally on this race, but concious downhill running mechanics, turnover and cadence control allowed me to expend minimal energy and finish strong on the flats even though I was fasted and did not take in anything during the run. Best part is my legs weren’t shot and I feel good going into #rnrsea. #running #fontanadaysrun #halfmarathon #garmin #medalwhore #fasted #lowcarbrunner #nuunbassador #fontana

Fontana half marathon complete. One of my goals is to run a race...

Fontana half marathon complete. One of my goals is to run a race in all the cities that I’ve lived. This is about as close I’ll get to running one in my hometown of Rialto. A downhill course and overcast weather made for the perfect setting for a PR. 1:39:39 while fasted. #running #fontanahalfmarathon #asnailspace #halfmarathon #pr #fasted #lowcarbrunner #nuunbassador #furtherfasterforever #werunsocial #instarunners #fontucky (at Fontana, California)
