#throwbackthursday to the last time I was able to run in Canada....

#throwbackthursday to the last time I was able to run in Canada. I was in Toronto for my brothers wedding and even though we were busy I made it a point to squeeze in a run along Lake Ontario. It was only mid-october yet it was 30°F which was definitely freezing for a California boy like myself. I will return to the great white north this weekend to run my 10th full marathon at Rock N Roll Montreal. #tbt #rnrmtl #running #marathon #teamnuun #nuunlove #furtherfasterforever #instarunners #werunsocial #worlderunners #maurrunning #runcation #travel #toronto #canada (at Lake Ontario)

It was a family affair this Saturday at the @rockitracing Riot Run as we rocked the various distances the race provides: 15k, 5k, and kids 1 mile. Always a pleaure when I get to run with my friends who originally put me on to running and ran some of my first races with me, @sportynics. A special shoutout and happy birthday to my long time friend and Rock It Racing amabassador @janicanor! #rockitracing #rockedit #running #trails #optoutside #trailrunning #optoutside #teamnuun #nuunlove #furtherfasterforever #instarunners #werunsocial #worlderunners #maurrunning #sportynics #latergram (at Irvine Regional Park)

Team #chasingNUUNport, 2nd place team overall for the marathon relay at Lexus Lace Up Irvine. I was tapped last minute to come up with a team for Nuun, but luckily my #chasingnewport run club fam was up for the challenge. Not to mention, they already rocked the Nuun gear. A beautiful morning in Irvine. Eight months down in 2016 and while my overall mileage is short in comparison to this point last year, I’ve hit my 100 miles/month goal for the eighth straight month. This is one of the more memorable ~100 miles that I’ve run… ever… In addition to my recent 50k, I was able to spend some of those miles running through Rome, Paris, London, and Dublin including a half marathon in each of the latter two cities. Definitely a good birthday month. Next stop, #rnrmtl for my 10th all time full marathon, and 5th of this year. Happy running everyone! #august #recap #running #teamnuun #nuunlove #furtherfasterforever #instarunners #werunsocial #worlderunners #maurrunning #travel #runcation #rome (at Colloseum)

Race hydration and electrolyte intake begin long before race day. I always increase my intake of both the days leading up to the race. Not just the day before. I was originally set to run Seawheeze today, but decided to extend our Euro vacation. Instead I will be running a local race here in the UK. The Thames Meander half marathon. I will be wearing my Seawheeze shorts anyway.
