#throwbackthursday to the last time I was able to run in Canada. I was in Toronto for my brothers wedding and even though we were busy I made it a point to squeeze in a run along Lake Ontario. It was only mid-october yet it was 30°F which was definitely freezing for a California boy like myself. Eight months down in 2016 and while my overall mileage is short in comparison to this point last year, I’ve hit my 100 miles/month goal for the eighth straight month. This is one of the more memorable ~100 miles that I’ve run… ever… In addition to my recent 50k, I was able to spend some of those miles running through Rome, Paris, London, and Dublin including a half marathon in each of the latter two cities. I don’t normally selfie like this, but I didn’t bring my Go Pro and I was really happy with this run. I really didn’t want to get up to run this morning. Even sitting in the car in the parking lot I wanted to just relax for the day. Once I saw my run fam getting together as we do on Sat morning and getting a mile under me, I just decided to run. No particular route or distance in mind. I just knew I wanted some hills. 14 miles and 1000+ elevation gain later I had run all over the Newport Beach hills.
